Bruno Clair Chambertin Clos de Bèze 2010 is a full-bodied Burgundy red wine from the Grand Cru climat of Clos de Bèze in the Gevrey-Chambertin commune of the Côte de Nuits. Based in Marsannay-la-Côte, Domaine Bruno Clair is a critically acclaimed wine producer with 27 hectares of vines across eight villages. On the 2010 Clos de Bèze. "A spicy, pure and admirably refined nose offers up notes of cool, layered and an impressively broad mix of wild red berries, stone and underbrush hints. The textured and almost painfully intense broad-shouldered flavours possess deep reserves of tannin-buffering dry extract as well as the same extraordinary finishing depth that the nose hints at. A knock-out but this is expressly built to age and the flavours and tannic spine are so tightly wound that it`s pointless to buy this if you do not intend to age it for at least 10 to 12 years first. Note. two-thirds of the vines were planted in 1912 and the remainder in 1973." Burghound, 2012

The 2010 Chambertin-Clos de Beze seems to hover on the palate. Dark red berries, freshly cut flowers, minerals and mint are all supported by the silkiest of tannins. The Beze boasts striking inner perfume and fabulous overall balance. Though deceptively medium in body, there is plenty of stuffing and structure to support a long life in the cellar. This is a decidedly feminine Beze that impresses for its sheer elegance and pure class. In sum, it is pure Bruno Clair. Anticipated maturity. 2025-2045. - Antonio Galloni
