Armand Rousseau Chambertin Clos de Bèze 1999 is a legendary Grand Cru red Burgundy from an exceptional quality vintage. The 1999 season provided perfect conditions for long-term ageing and this wine has developed into a complex tapestry of dried rose petals and forest floor. The tannins are remarkably silken and integrated providing a structure that carries the dark cherry fruit through a finish that lasts for several minutes. It remains one of the most sought-after expressions of the vineyard due to its effortless balance and profound depth of flavor.

Full ruby-red. Extraordinarily perfumed, profound nose combines tangy black raspberry, rose petal, coffee and game; essence of Cote de Nuits pinot noir. Lush, sweet and seamless; wonderfully silky and aromatic in the mouth. Truly palate-staining wine, with compelling sweetness and smooth, thoroughly buffered tannins.Stephen Tanzer1st March 2002
