Chambertin Armand Rousseau 2022 originates from the Gevrey-Chambertin grand cru in Burgundy, cultivated by winemaker Eric Rousseau, known for his precision and respect for traditional methods. This red wine is made exclusively from Pinot Noir, sourced from ancient vines that yield a profound expression of the Côte de Nuits. The 2022 vintage features an alcohol content of 13.5%. The wine reveals notes of black cherries, truffle, and crushed stones, showcasing a more masculine profile compared to the Clos de Bèze. Aged entirely in new French oak, it possesses a strong tannic structure that promises long-term ageing potential, ensuring gradual evolution over decades.
Vinous
The 2022 Chambertin Grand Cru conveys a sense of grandeur on the nose, leaning slightly more towards red than black fruit, very harmonious and complex, with pressed flower scents filtering through with aeration. It is difficult to drag your nose away from the glass. The medium-bodied palate has very finely sculpted tannins and great depth with a smoothly textured, lightly spiced finish that lingers very long in the mouth. Superb.Neal Martin17th January 2024
