Chacra Cincuenta Y Cinco Pinot Noir 2021 is a medium-bodied Pinot Noir from the Patagonia region of Argentina. This wine represents a new frontier for Argentine wine, with the vines planted in the extreme south of the country, in the Rio Negro district of Patagonia. The vineyards are farmed biodynamically. In the cellar, the wine is matured in 40% in concrete tanks, 40% French oak barrels and 20% clay amphorae for nine months. "This is basically the same wine as the Sin Azufre but with a little more oak, which is barely noticeable but with some spiciness and Burgundian character developing tantalizing notes of violet pastille with time in the glass. It has a bright ruby colour and a complex and subtle nose full of elegance and nuance. The palate is medium-bodied, with very fine tannins and supple flavours, primary, young and apparently weightless and ethereal but full of inner energy. It has bright flavours of fresh cherries and raspberries and a citrus twist of orange peel that adds freshness. Gobsmacking!" Luis Gutierrez, 2022

The 2022 Pinot Noir Cincuenta y Cinco hails from a single plot in Mainqué, Río Negro. Following its 50% whole-cluster fermentation, it underwent aging for one year, with 1/3 in used barrels, 1/3 in amphorae and 1/3 in concretes vats. Displaying a bright, ruby-red hue, the Cincuenta y Cino reveals a wide range of layered aromas: rose, damp earth, cherry and even a distinctive hint of arugula. Dry and taut, the textured and nimble mouthfeel leads to a long, sexy finish. This is a delicious Pinot Noir.
