Montreal-born Patrick Piuze established his own label in Chablis in 2008 having worked for the likes of Leflaive, Jean-Marc Brocard and Jean-Marie Guffens. He is a terroir obsessive, making no fewer than eight different villages-level wines and tries to express their individual character with vinification entirely in stainless steel.
From the sublime 2019 vintage, this is a lovely wine from the commune of Courgis. It is medium- to full-bodied, deep and complex, with delicious notes of green apple, citrus peel, spring flowers and crushed shells. There is delicate tension and excellent acidity, suggesting that, whilst great to drink already, it will develop nicely in the cellar.

The 2019 Chablis "Terroir de Corgis" is well defined on the nose, with more floral scents, dandelion and jasmine developing in the glass. In the mouth, it is finely tuned with a lovely spicy midpalate. Ginger and lemongrass judiciously lace the satisfying finish. Excellent. Neal Martin1st September 2020
