Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 2010 from Domaine Billaud-Simon is a Premier Cru white wine from the Chablis appellation. This is drawn from Montée de Tonnerre, a climat renowned for its Grand Cru-like intensity and Kimmeridgian marl soils. Billaud-Simon`s precise style highlights its structural integrity. This tight structural profile offers concentrated aromas of lemon zest, oyster shell, smoke and prominent saline minerality. The palate is linear and intense, showcasing purity and a powerful mineral-driven acidity.

Unfortunately, the 2010 Chablis Montee de Tonnerre is harder to read today. It reflects the nature of the year in its equally intense fruit and acidity. Today, the 2010 is incredibly shut down, but it should be great when it awakens. White peaches, pears, minerals and oyster shells all make an appearance in this savory, delicate wine of impeccable class and pure breeding. This is a great example of Montee de Tonnerre. Anticipated maturity. 2015+. - Antonio Galloni

The 2010 Billaud-Simon Chablis Montée de Tonnerre showed all of the best qualities of this great Chablis vintage. The combination of bright, piercing acidity and the power of the year married perfectly in the glass, but also with the cuisine. The precision of Thomas Keller's food really works well with Chablis, and the 2010 Montée de Tonnerre was absolutely stellar with a number of the courses on this menu.Antonio Galloni1st June 2013
