Domaine Raveneau is arguably the finest wine producer in Chablis with a solid reputation across the globe. The Domaine was established by François Raveneau in 1948 and is currently run by cousins Isabelle and Maxime. Raveneau pioneered the use of Côte d`Or winemaking in Chablis, including barrel fermentation and extended lees contact. This release comes from Les Vaillons, one of the largest Premier Cru vineyards in Chablis where Raveneau owns a 0.4-hectare parcel. Just like the best white Burgundies, Chablis can benefit from extended bottle age and this 1987 vintage is case in point.
