Domaine Droin Chablis Les Clos 2015 is a white wine from the Grand Cru, Les Clos in the Chablis appellation of France. Jean-Paul et Benoît Droin is a highly respected Chablis Domaine dating back to at least the 17th century. The estate comprises 26 hectares spread over the four appellation levels. Petit Chablis, Chablis, nine Premier Cru and five Grand Cru sites.
“From bottle, Droin`s 2017 Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos confirms its status as the domaine`s finest wine this year, unwinding in the glass with a complex but reserved bouquet of honeyed apples, fresh peach, confit lemon, almond paste and a stable framing of oak. On the palate, it`s full-bodied, deep and layered, with a dense, tight-knit and blocky core, racy acids and a saline finish. This will demand some patience.” 94+ points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate 2019

Vinous
- The 2017 Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos felt flatter on the nose than its peers. It is well defined but lacks a little spark and energy, though that is addressed with aeration as it develops more mineralité in the glass. The palate is concentrated with a slightly honeyed texture, and quite spicy toward the energetic, saline finish, which partly compensates for the aromatics. Great potential. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting in Savigny-lès-Beaune.
