Domaine Droin Chablis Les Clos 2015 is a full-bodied white wine from the Grand Cru climat of Les Clos in the Chablis appellation of France. Jean-Paul et Benoît Droin is a highly respected Chablis domaine dating back to at least the 17th century. The estate comprises 26 hectares spread over the four appellation levels. Petit Chablis, Chablis, nine Premier Cru and five Grand Cru sites. "The 2015 Chablis Grand Cru les Clos has an expressive bouquet with scents of wild honey, ginger, flint and smoke. It has the gusto and hubris that you expect from les Clos. The palate is very well balanced with fine delineation, disarmingly harmonious and focused with hints of almond and hazelnut on the saline, oyster shell, lightly reduced finish. This just demonstrates what a les Clos ought to be when it is in the right hands." Wine Advocate, 2017
Vinous
The 2015 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru is showing quite a bit of oak on the nose, although this should be subsumed with bottle age. The palate is rounded and rather oaky on the entry and the finish is dominated by the wood. This has shown supremely well in the past and I think it’s just going through a sullen phase. Tasted at the annual Burgfest tasting. Neal Martin1st November 2018
