Droin Chablis Les Clos 2014 is a full-bodied Chardonnay white wine produced from the Grand Cru climat of Les Clos in the Chablis appellation of Burgundy. Jean-Paul et Benoît Droin is a highly respected Chablis domaine dating back to at least the 17th century. The estate comprises 26 hectares spread over the four appellation levels. Petit Chablis, Chablis, nine Premier Cru and five Grand Cru sites. This bottling is from Les Clos, which is known for producing some of the most powerful wines in the Chablis Grand Cru belt. "Reticent, very pure aromas of ginger and oyster-shell minerality. Densely packed and fine-grained, conveying powerful rocky minerality, with subtle stone fruit and peach pit flavours in the deep background. Strong citrussy acidity gives this wine outstanding inner-mouth sappiness. Finishes with superb length and éclat. This wine tastes like it`s from a different region than the Grenouilles. As bracing as it is, there`s nothing hard or austere about it." Vinous, 2016
