Louis Jadot Chablis Fourchaume 2021 is a Chardonnay white wine produced from the Premier Cru climat of Beauroy in the Chablis appellation of Burgundy. Of the 40 Premier Crus in Chablis, Fourchaume is generally regarded as being one of the closest to meriting Grand Cru status. The soils in Fourchaume are also similar to those in the Grand Cru vineyards, being predominantly poor with brown clay and only slightly stony, with Chablis’ characteristic limestone-rich Kimmeridgian subsoil. "Deeper hue, with plenty of weight and power typical of Fourchaume. Perhaps not the most subtle expression of this premier cru but there are some attractive lime zest notes and accompanying acidity which keeps the palate fresh." Decanter, 2022

The very essence of Burgundy

Louis Jadot was established in Beaune by Louis Henry Denis in 1859. Over the last 165 years the company maintained exceptional quality of its wines through the steady acquisition of the best vineyards in Burgundy and now produce wines from over 150 appellations.

Jadot owns almost 125ha of vineyards in the Côte d’Or and more than 298 vineyard parcels sites including 14 Grand Cru and 74 Premier Cru. Within the last decade Domaine Louis Jadot vineyards around Beaune have been managed following organic principles and are in the process of organic certification for the 2024 vintage.

From vineyard to bottle, sustainability is a core part of their approach. Since 2019, all Domaine Louis Jadot vineyards have the High Environmental Value level 3 certification. This is a voluntary approach which aims to identify and promote particularly environmentally-friendly practices applied by farmers. It covers biodiversity conservation, plant protection strategy, management of fertiliser use and management of water.
