Domaine Raveneau is arguably the finest wine producer in Chablis with a solid reputation across the globe. The Domaine was established by François Raveneau in 1948 and is currently run by cousins Isabelle and Maxime. Raveneau pioneered the use of Côte d`Or winemaking in Chablis, including barrel fermentation and extended lees contact. This release hails from Forêt, a Premier Cru situated on the western side of the Serein River, where Raveneau owns a 0.67-hectare plot. Chablis enjoyed a successful vintage in 2015, with a higher ripeness and slightly lower acidity.
Vinous
Bright, light yellow. Stone and mint aromas are lifted by a topnote of lime blossom. Juicy and slightly dry-edged, with a piquant grapefruit pith flavor braced by strong minerality for the year. Comes across as citrussy and tight, even austere for the vintage, and not giving up much today.Stephen Tanzer1st July 2016
