Chablis Forêt Raveneau 2005 is a Premier Cru Chardonnay from the Kimmeridgian limestone slopes of Chablis. Forêt is one of the most prestigious Premier Crus, producing wines with a floral character and a broad, textured palate. This bottling features notes of lemon zest, white peach and crushed chalk, accompanied by a sharp, saline finish. It displays the precision and high acidity characteristic of the producer’s minimal intervention style, which allows the quintessential stony character of the terroir to shine through clearly.

Pale, green-tinged color. Aromas of lime, wet stone and menthol. Round and ripe, with appealing flavors of stone fruits and acacia flower. Fat and broad but dry and classic, with plenty of stuffing. Very good but a bit less pristine than the 2006 version.Stephen Tanzer1st July 2007

Dusty and very faint lime citrus notes, lemon cream. Delicate but more evident fruit flavour than the straight Chablis. Still more mineral than fruit. Dry, savoury and tight on the palate. Wet stones and a touch of cedar forest. The beginning of a nutty flavour. More complex than the straight Chablis and more power. Taut and very youthful still. Very persistent and intense to the end.
