With viticultural history dating back to the 17th century, Château Canon-la-Gaffelière is a prestigious wine estate situated in the Saint-Émilion appellation. Owned by Count Stephan von Neipperg since 1985, the property was upgraded in the official 2012 Saint-Émilion Classification to Premier Grand Cru Classé B. This vintage comprises a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, reflecting typical Bordeaux characteristics. The wine showcases a mature profile with earthy undertones and dried fruit notes. Robert Parker on the 1990 in 2009, “This wine has always tasted superb. Still a dark purple/garnet color, it offers an exotic bouquet of roasted coffee, caramelized herbs, sweet cassis, blackberries, chocolate, and licorice. The explosive bouquet is followed by a low acid, full-bodied, chewy wine with sweet tannin and ripe, jammy fruit and glycerin”
