Château Canon is a Premier Grand Cru Classé ‘B’ estate situated on the Saint-Émilion limestone plateau. The property was acquired in 1996 by the luxury fashion house Chanel, who also own two further estates in Bordeaux, Château Berliquet also in Saint-Émilion and Château Rauzan-Ségla in Margaux. This 1985 vintage is a blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. Expect notes of dried fruits, kirsch, smoked oak and vanilla.

Jancis Robinson
Another relic from a pre-Wertheimer era (see my note on Rauzan-Ségla 1985).Very old nose and a decidedly sweet palate that`s a definite improvement on the nose. Quite long actually. Better than the Rauzan-Ségla 1985. (JR)
