Calon-Ségur 2005 is a full-bodied, Cabernet Sauvignon-based red wine from the Saint-Estèphe appellation of Bordeaux. Château Calon-Ségur is the most northerly of the Médoc Grand-Crus Classés and is renowned for wines with excellent depth of fruit and superb length. Available here in magnum format, the 2005 grand vin is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot offering scents of cassis, earth, woodsmoke and spice. It is broad-shouldered and broodingly tannic suggesting more time in bottle may be of benefit.
