Calon-Ségur 2015 is a prominent Bordeaux blend, comprising 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. Aged for 20 months in 100% new French oak, it presents a deep ruby hue. The nose reveals notes of blackcurrant, plum and hints of cedar, accented by subtle herbal undertones. On the palate, this wine displays well-defined tannins and a structured finish, indicative of its age-worthiness.

Captures the texture and power of great St Estèphe, with aromatic fragrant spice, blueberry and cassis fruit, and has plenty of joy to deliver. Great quality at the ten year point, just about ready to drink at this point but decades ahead. Crushed roses on the finish, lighter framed than the 2016 but this is a lovely wine. 100% new oak for ageing. Vincent Millet director.Jane Anson19th February 2025

Composed of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot, the 2015 Calon-Segur was aged in 100% new French oak barrels for 20 months. It has a deep garnet-purple color and nose of warm blackberries, cassis, black cherries and licorice with touches of roses and dark chocolate. The medium-bodied palate is firm and chewy with good concentration and a spicy finish. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown

The 2015 Calon-Ségur has an attractive bouquet with black olive-infused blackberry, bilberry and a whiff of the estuary coming through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with smooth tannins and fine depth. It's a little grainy toward the finish with that marine theme lingering in the mouth. This is promising. 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot. 47 hl/ha. 20 months in 100% new oak. Dark crimson. Pure and aromatic. Pretty dense and dry with a hint of sweet oak. Solid and concentrated. All set for the long term. Pretty introvert. Edgy finish but more sweetness than there used to be. Intense – more intense than usual for this property. A little attenuated on the end. Very solid indeed! (JR)
