Calon Ségur 1994 is a red Bordeaux crafted from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc grapes. This wine showcases the traditional characteristics of Saint-Estèphe, reflecting the region`s terroir. The estate, established in 17th century, has a long history of producing structured wines with notable ageing potential. On opening, expect aromas of dark fruit and earthy tones, with a complex flavour profile that evolves over time. A study in winemaking tradition, it presents an opportunity to explore Bordeaux`s rich heritage.

Vinous
Medium dark red. Pungent, faintly sauvage nose hints at curry powder and tobacco. Rather stylish in shape, but seems plagued by an underripe/overripe quality. Rather spiky on the finish; the tannins are not particularly strong but seem only modestly ripe. Notes of tobacco and tomato in the mouth. Stephen Tanzer1st May 1996
