Château Calon-Ségur 1985 is a fully mature Cabernet Sauvignon-based red wine from the Third Growth Château Calon-Ségur in St-Estèphe. Calon-Ségur is the most northerly of all the Médoc Grand-Crus Classé and one of the most highly regarded of St-Estèphe`s Cru Classé properties. Its distinctive walled 75ha vineyard contains an unusually high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon and in some vintages the Grand Vin can see as much as 90% Cabernet in the blend. 1985 was a very successful year in Bordeaux, producing plenty of ripe, opulent wines with excellent ageing potential.
