Calera is a prestigious wine producer in California, known for its high-quality expressions of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. It was founded by Josh Jensen in 1975, and it is located in the Mount Harlan AVA in the Gavilan Mountains. The Jensen Vineyard is one of Calera`s most famous single vineyards, planted with Pinot Noir vines in 1975 on limestone-rich soils. The year 1992 marked a significant vintage in California, characterized by its excellent quality.

The 1992 Pinot Noir Jensen Vineyard retains surprising depth and intensity for a wine of its era. The tannins have mostly melted away, revealing a Pinot built on surprising mid-palate depth and intensity, but with less of an emphasis on aromatics. Slightly angular contours remain and the acidity is just a bit elevated within the wine's overall profile. Still, all things considered, the 1992 has aged impeccably.
