Bunnahabhain 43 Year Old Whisky Agency is a single malt from the Islay region, distilled in 1968 and bottled in 2011 at 47.2%. It was matured in a refill hogshead, a choice that preserved the distillery’s spirit character over four decades of ageing. The profile focuses on citrus and herbal elements, with specific notes of grapefruit pith, menthol and sea salt. This 1968 distillation shows a flinty, mineral acidity and a medicinal edge. The texture remains fluid and crisp, displaying flavours of lime zest and eucalyptus on the mid-palate. The finish is persistent and focuses on brine and toasted barley.

The Lighter Side of Islay
Often known as the "gateway malt" for those looking to explore the smoky malts of Islay, Bunnahabhain is more lightly peated than most other whiskies produced on the island. Situated on the north-eastern coast, the distillery name means "mouth of the river" in Gaelic.
Historically noted for a waxy, oily mouthfeel, low peat levels and a hint of sea spray, Bunnahabhain have since experimented with more heavily peated drams, in-keeping with the style of their island neighbours. The youngest age statement in the core range is 12 years old while limited edition cask finishes have won the distillery awards globally.
