The nose offers an inviting combination of roasted nuts, dried fruits and polished oak, layered with notes of walnut cake, orange peel, dark honey and gentle spice. On the palate, Bunnahabhain`s trademark oily texture carries waves of rich sherry influence, bringing flavours of toasted hazelnuts, dates, raisins and cocoa, balanced by hints of salted caramel and leather. Beneath the cask influence lies the distillery`s distinctive maritime character, adding depth and complexity throughout. The finish is long and warming, with lingering nutty sweetness, oak spice and a subtle smoke.
Drawn from a single first fill sherry hogshead selected by the team at Hedonism Wines, this remarkable cask yielded just 59 bottles.

The Lighter Side of Islay
Often known as the "gateway malt" for those looking to explore the smoky malts of Islay, Bunnahabhain is more lightly peated than most other whiskies produced on the island. Situated on the north-eastern coast, the distillery name means "mouth of the river" in Gaelic.
Historically noted for a waxy, oily mouthfeel, low peat levels and a hint of sea spray, Bunnahabhain have since experimented with more heavily peated drams, in-keeping with the style of their island neighbours. The youngest age statement in the core range is 12 years old while limited edition cask finishes have won the distillery awards globally.
