Brunello di Montalcino Silvio Nardi 2001 is a distinguished Sangiovese wine from Tuscany`s storied Montalcino sub-region of Tuscany. The grapes are hand-harvested with a focus on the top selection, ensuring quality is paramount. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes ageing in both Slovenian and French oak, contributing subtle complexity to the final profile. Silvio Nardi, the winemaker, is known for promoting sustainable viticulture practices on his estates, fostering both tradition and innovation in the craft of Brunello.

Made in a super-ripe style, the deeply-colored 2001 Brunello di Montalcino presents attractive suggestions of earthiness, dark fruit, chocolate and new oak. It is a juicy, ample wine that should drink well relatively early. Anticipated maturity. 2008-2018. - Antonio Galloni

Deep red. Slightly roasted aromas of redcurrant, cherry, coffee and smoky oak. A supple, sweet midweight, with sangiovese-typical notes of cherry, plum, mocha and leather, all nicely framed by firm acidity. Not the last word in complexity but suave and satisfying, with insidious persistence on the ripely tannic finish.Stephen Tanzer1st July 2006

Deep healthy crimson. Broad spread of aromas that splits the difference between old and new. Rather sweet and bloody start with very pronounced tannins on the finish. Pretty glamorous – very marked acidity. (JR)
