Brunello di Montalcino Mastrojanni 2001 is derived from the prominent Sangiovese grape, cultivated in the esteemed Montalcino region of Tuscany. This vintage experiences an extended maturation in Slavonian oak, contributing to its intricate complexity. The wine offers a structured profile with discernible tannins and an intricate interplay of dark fruit and earthy notes. Mastrojanni, founded in 1975, is committed to minimal vineyard intervention, striving to authentically showcase the terroir while benefitting from investments made by new ownership under Illy.

Mastrojanni's 2001 Brunello di Montalcino opens with suggestions of flowers, spices, herbs and a note of alcoholic sweetness on the nose. Medium in color as well as body, it is a pretty, refined Brunello, with a soft, supple personality, showing outstanding persistence in an understated style, with fine tannins and a juicy note of sweetness on the finish. It is a lovely Brunello to enjoy now and over the next 10-12 years. Anticipated maturity
