On the 2006 Brunello di Montalcino Cerretalto. "Aromas of ripe strawberries, sandalwood, and flowers follow though to a full body, with soft tannins and a fruity finish. This is so long and gorgeous, with intense fruit and a defined and beautiful structure. Amazing fruit at the finish. Gorgeous now, but will age beautifully. The palate builds and show such depth." Bright, deep red. Liqueur-like aromas of creme de cassis, black cherry, blackberry, minerals and spices turned a bit pruney in the glass. Sweet, plush and superripe, with complementary sexy oak. This liqueur-like, powerfully structured wine verges on heavy, and its tannins will require time to mellow in bottle.Stephen Tanzer1st July 2012
