This exceptional Bowmore release is one of only 306 bottles ever produced, making it a true collector’s item. Distilled on 22nd November 1955, this whisky began its journey in a bourbon hogshead before being transferred to a sherry cask in 1975 to complete its maturation. It was finally bottled in 1995, marking 40 years of careful craftsmanship.

With an ABV of 42% and presented in a 70cl crystal decanter, this whisky is a celebration of Bowmore’s legacy. The whisky is housed in a stunning hand-crafted decanter, individually numbered and made by Caithness Glass in Scotland. Its presentation case, a masterpiece in itself, was expertly hand-made from oak by Master Cabinet Makers Charles Kirkby & Sons in England. The set includes a glass stopper and a padlock key, completing this exquisite presentation.

Bowmore is one of the oldest distilleries on Islay and the first on the island to receive a license. Officially founded in 1779 by local merchant David Simpson, it's likely that illicit distilling had been taking place for some years on the same site. The distillery had a number of different owners over the years, passing to Stanley Morrison in the mid 60s before being purchased by Beam Suntory in 1994.

The distillery has bottled some of the world's most desirable single malts over the years including the widely acclaimed White, Black and Gold Bowmore editions. Across the range, the spirit is characterised by a rich smoky character with hints of tropical fruit and ocean spray.
