Bowmore 37 Year Old Cask 3822 Duncan Taylor 1968 is an Islay single malt matured in a single refill hogshead for nearly four decades. Distilled in 1968 and bottled in 2006, this expression delivers a profound profile of tropical fruits, parma violets and gentle coastal smoke. 37 years in seasoned wood have resulted in an extraordinary textural viscosity and an aromatic complexity of mango, guava and sea spray. It is bottled at a natural cask strength of 40.4% preserving the elegant and site-driven character of the 1968 vintage. This is a rare and monumental whisky, providing an endlessly persistent finish that showcases the remarkable structural longevity achievable by the Bowmore distillate under the stewardship of an elite independent bottler.

Bowmore is one of the oldest distilleries on Islay and the first on the island to receive a license. Officially founded in 1779 by local merchant David Simpson, it's likely that illicit distilling had been taking place for some years on the same site. The distillery had a number of different owners over the years, passing to Stanley Morrison in the mid 60s before being purchased by Beam Suntory in 1994.
The distillery has bottled some of the world's most desirable single malts over the years including the widely acclaimed White, Black and Gold Bowmore editions. Across the range, the spirit is characterised by a rich smoky character with hints of tropical fruit and ocean spray.
