Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Beaune Au Bout du Monde Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey 2023, is a single-site white Burgundy originating from a parcel densely planted parcel of Chardonnay planted in 2015. The vinification process reflects Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey’s commitment to precision, involving careful pressing and prolonged ageing on the lees. The result is a medium to full-bodied wine, featuring aromas of pear and white flowers intertwined with subtle notes of freshly baked bread and spice. Its saline finish adds complexity, reflecting the unique character of the vineyard.

The 2023 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Au Bout du Monde offers up notes of green apple, lime zest, white flowers and hazelnuts, followed by a medium-bodied, lively and racy palate. It was still on its lees in barrel when I tasted it. - William Kelley
Vinous
The 20223 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Au Bout du Monde has an effervescent bouquet with red apple and light nectarine scents. The palate is fresh with crisp acidity and a twist of sour lemon that drives the finish. This is a revivifying Chardonnay with plenty of energy.Neal Martin1st January 2025

Minimalist approach to Burgundy wines

Established in Chassagne-Montrachet in 2001 through the collaboration of Pierre-Yves Colin and his wife Caroline Morey (both hailing from historic Burgundy winemaking families) the Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey estate comprises approximately 13 hectares of vineyards across the appellations Saint-Aubin, Chassagne-Montrachet, Santenay, Puligny-Montrachet, and Meursault.

Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey is the eldest son of St-Aubin winemaker Marc Colin. Since leaving his family domaine in 2005 to launch his own winery, Pierre-Yves has become one of the most-lauded winemakers on the Côte d'Or. His approach is very much minimal-interventionist: no batonnage for whites; minimal racking and extended élévage across the board.

Pierre-Yves’ vineyard holdings are centred on the Côte de Beaune appellation of St-Aubin (including the Premiers Crus of Chatèniere, Champlots and Remilly) and Chassagne-Montrachet (including the Premiers Crus of Chenevottes and Caillerets).

Pierre-Yves’ cellar is shared with his wife, Caroline Morey. The daughter of Jean-Marc Morey, whose family has cultivated vines in Chassagne since the 16th century, Caroline created her own domaine in 2014.
