Domaine Ramonet is unquestionably one of the finest producers in the Côte de Beaune and, under the watchful eye of Noël and Jean-Claude Ramonet, has had a remarkable run of form over recent vintages. From Bourgogne up to Grand Cru the quality of wine produced is equalled by few others.
Once again, Ramonet has turned out an incredibly impressive Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru. Oft-overlooked for the more famous cuvées this is not a wine to be dismissed. It is rich, full-bodied and textural, with immense concentration of fruit, vibrant acidity and wonderful mineral tension. Ramonet’s wines can need a little time in bottle before showing their true potential and, in this instance, patience will very much be rewarded.
Vinous
- Reticent but pure aromas of white peach and hazelnut enlivened by a lemony high note. Fine-grained, silky, concentrated grand cru with excellent lemony acidity giving shape to the mid-palate and extending the long, perfumed, classically dry finish. Terrific potential here.
