Château Beychevelle 2010 is a notable St-Julien wine from a distinguished 4ème Cru Classé estate in the Médoc region. The blend comprises 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. The château`s fascinating history is linked to the Duc d’Eperon, an Admiral of France. In the 16th century, ships sailing along the Gironde estuary were said to lower their sails in honour of the Duc and château owner. Baisse-voile means `lower sails` and inspired the name Beychevelle. This large format allows for extended cellaring.
