Château Beychevelle is a 4ème Cru Classé St-Julien property that, in the best vintages, produces wines that are as good as, if not better than, higher classified estates and are particularly renowned for their excellent longevity. 1982 is widely recognised as one of the all-time great vintages of Bordeaux and this should be approaching its peak.

Vinous
Full medium ruby. Highly perfumed aromas of sour cherry candy, currant syrup, violet and minerals. Thick and rich, but a bit unyielding owing to its solid spine of acidity. Still rather youthfully austere on the finish.Stephen Tanzer1st July 2002

A Classic Saint Julien Classed Growth
Reflecting the elegance and finesse of Saint Julien's finest terroirs, fourth growth Château Beychevelle spans 90ha and is renowned for its graceful and complex first wine, made from the best plots in the vineyard and that boasts a wonderful capacity for aging.
A second wine, Amiral de Beychevelle, is also made from young vines. The estate is planted to predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, together with smaller percentages of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Expect supple, balanced wines with tremendous aromatic richness.
