Château Berliquet is a Grand Cru Classé in Saint-Emilion, which was acquired by the luxury fashion house Chanel in 2017. The 2010 vintage is a medium-bodied wine, featuring crushed summer berries on the nose, and a palate that is rich, fresh and well-structured. Expect hints of limestone on the finish.
93 Jane Anson
Bright ruby colour, this shows delicious clarity of expression, floral aromatics, silky tannins, black fruits, great linearity and poise, and a salted cracker finish. More closed than the 2009, but with plenty of hidden depths, and very much coming into its drinking moment.Jane Anson10th October 2024
89 Vinous
Bright red-ruby. Red fruits, spices and caramel oak on the nose. Broad and plump but not overly sweet or filled in, displaying good grip to the dark fruit and licorice flavors. Finishes with firm tannins that will need a few years to harmonize with the fruit.Stephen Tanzer1st July 2013
87 Jancis Robinson
There are seductive aspects to this wine, including ripe black cherry and raspberry fruits as well as nice glycerin, body and fleshiness, but the toasty oak comes through in a rather glaring fashion and the tannins also pick up in the finish, providing a slight astringency to this otherwise well-made wine. It probably needs a few more months at minimum to settle down in the bottle.Robert Parker28th February 2013
