Benromach Heritage 1972 is a historical Speyside single malt distilled during a classic era of production. This 1972 expression spent decades in oak, reaching a peak of aromatic complexity and textural concentration. It reveals a deep bouquet of beeswax, dried apricots and antique leather, punctuated by a very fine, waxy smoke. The palate is full-bodied and silky, with the oak tannins perfectly integrated into a core of orange oil and dark cocoa. The finish is extraordinary in its length, displaying the structural focus associated with the oldest distillery reserves. This release serves as a benchmark for the heavy, robust spirit produced by the original stills.

Founded in 1898 by Ducan McCallum is F.W. Brickman, Benromach is a Speyside distillery located in Morayshire. The distillery operate one wash still and one spirit still and annual production is around half a million litres a year. Following a period of closure, the distillery was acquired by Gordon and MacPhail in the early 1990s and bottling resumed later the same decade, much to the delight of single malt enthusiasts. The spirit is generally peated to a slightly higher level than one would expect from a Speysider, around 8 - 12 ppm.

Limited editions and cask finishes have been central to Benromach's identity in recent years while the core range offers fantastic quality across the board.
