Benromach Cissac Finish 2006 is a Speyside single malt distilled in 2006 that has undergone a secondary maturation in Haut-Médoc red wine casks from Château Cissac. This finishing process imparts a distinct vinous character and a deep ruby hue to the spirit. The profile presents aromas of red berries and lemon zest alongside a hint of earthy smoke. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied and texturally rich, where the dark fruit sweetness of the Bordeaux wood complements the spicy, honeyed spirit. Flavours of blackcurrant and toasted oak lead into a persistent finish, demonstrating the successful marriage of Scottish craft with French wine influence.

A Gently Peated Speysider

Founded in 1898 by Ducan McCallum is F.W. Brickman, Benromach is a Speyside distillery located in Morayshire. The distillery operate one wash still and one spirit still and annual production is around half a million litres a year. Following a period of closure, the distillery was acquired by Gordon and MacPhail in the early 1990s and bottling resumed later the same decade, much to the delight of single malt enthusiasts. The spirit is generally peated to a slightly higher level than one would expect from a Speysider, around 8 - 12 ppm.

Limited editions and cask finishes have been central to Benromach's identity in recent years while the core range offers fantastic quality across the board.
