Benromach 50 Year Old 1969 is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Speyside region of Scotland. Distilled in 1969 and matured for five decades in a single refill sherry hogshead, this expression boasts a cask strength of 44.6% ABV. The whisky reveals notes of honeyed tobacco and stewed fruits, accompanied by a subtle peat smoke typical of the distillery from that era. The refill wood contributes to a structural clarity, avoiding the heavy tannin associated with first-fill casks. This bottling exemplifies the pre-closure character of Benromach, showcasing a complex, waxy texture and a lengthy finish characteristic of the traditional Speyside style.

The spirit is generally peated to a slightly higher level than one would expect from a Speysider, around 8 - 12 ppm.
