Benromach 1973 is a Speyside single malt reflecting traditional production methods from the early 1970s. Distilled in 1973 and matured for over 30 years, this expression offers a profile of significant structural focus and energy. It is bright and inviting, led by red apples and honey with a distinct nutty undertone. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied and smooth, displaying a concentrated depth of orchard fruits, vanilla and a touch of white pepper. Maturation has integrated the wood perfectly, leading into a long and warming finish that showcases the purity of the spirit and the successful integration of high-quality oak.

A Gently Peated Speysider

Founded in 1898 by Ducan McCallum is F.W. Brickman, Benromach is a Speyside distillery located in Morayshire. The distillery operate one wash still and one spirit still and annual production is around half a million litres a year. Following a period of closure, the distillery was acquired by Gordon and MacPhail in the early 1990s and bottling resumed later the same decade, much to the delight of single malt enthusiasts. The spirit is generally peated to a slightly higher level than one would expect from a Speysider, around 8 - 12 ppm.

Limited editions and cask finishes have been central to Benromach's identity in recent years while the core range offers fantastic quality across the board.
