BenRiach 40 Year Old Cask 7028 Batch 13 is a limited-edition, age-statement Speyside single malt whisky produced at the BenRiach Distillery in Elgin, Scotland. Distilled in 1975, this is the oldest release from BenRiach`s 13th batch of single-cask bottlings. This fine, peated single malt was matured in single ex-Sherry butt for four decades, then bottled in 2016 at a natural cask strength of 53%. Just 511 bottles were filled.

Revived and Revitalised

Located in Speyside and founded in 1898, BenRiach has a rich history and has been producing whisky for over a century. The distillery was closed for a period of time in the early 21st century, but was reopened in 2004. BenRiach is known for its innovative approach to whisky-making, combining traditional methods with modern techniques. The distillery sources its barley from local farms and uses water from nearby springs to create its whiskies.

The distillery produces a range of single malts, including unpeated, peated, and heavily peated expressions. Its signature whisky, the BenRiach 10 Year Old, is a classic Speyside single malt that is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. It has a smooth and balanced flavor, with notes of vanilla, honey, and spice.
