Based in the village of Bouzy, Benoît Lahaye produces excellent Champagne from 4.75ha of organic, biodynamic and horse-worked vines. This gorgeously juicy and concentrated 100% Pinot Noir comes from a single vineyard, Les Juliennes, planted in 1973 and is made by 2 to 3 days of whole cluster maceration before direct pressing. 2-3g/L dosage and only 4,000 bottles produced.

Vinous
(100% saignee pinot noir; L33102011): Dark pink. Intensely perfumed aromas of raspberry, tangerine and fresh rose are lifted by notes of white pepper and smoky minerals. Suave, silky and focused, showing fresh red berry flavors and an undercurrent of minerality. Finishes on a dried cherry note, with impressive length and resonating smokiness. Serve this full-flavored pink Champagne with a roasted bird or pork dish.
