Belgrave 2006 is a full-bodied, Cabernet Sauvignon-based red wine from the Haut-Médoc appellation of Bordeaux. Château Belgrave is a Fifth Growth wine estate situated within the Haut-Médoc appellation on the border with St-Julien. Since 1979 the estate has been in the expert hands of the Dourthe family, who made a significant investment in its infrastructure. The Cabernet-dominant wines of this estate offer very good value, particularly when compared with their more illustrious Cru Classé neighbours in St-Julien. On the 2006. "The 2006 Château Belgrave has a simple, clean dark berry and black tea-scented nose that would benefit from more vigour. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannin, clean and quite attractive blackberry and raspberry coulis towards the finish with respectable definition and length. Ten years on, this Belgrave has no problem doling out drinking pleasure and it is certainly worth picking up if you chance upon any bottles." Neal Martin, 2016
