Château Belgrave is a Grand Cru Classé property in the Haut-Médoc that has, since 1979, been part of the Dourthe portfolio of estates. Most similar in style to Saint-Julien it is typically hallmarked by its aromatic complexity and rich fruit character, combined with wonderful elegance and finesse. The 2017 is a lovely release composed of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Merlot.

The 2017 Belgrave comes across as wild and gamy. Iron, graphite, incense, tobacco and inky dark fruit give the 2017 a distinctly feral personality. That impression is further enhanced by big, rustic tannins. I liked this a bit more from barrel.Antonio Galloni1st March 2020
82 Jancis Robinson
Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, 2017 Belgrave reveals notes of warm cassis, baked black cherries and preserved plums plus suggestions of garrigue and charcoal. Medium-bodied, the palate is a little thin and edgy with chewy tannins and crisp acid defining the finish.Lisa Perrotti-Brown16th March 2020
