Based in Pommard, Domaine J.M. Boillot – also known as Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot – is a family-owned estate producing highly coveted wines from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Jean-Marc set up his own Domaine in 1989 after inheriting vines from his grandfather Henri Boillot. This Bâtard-Montrachet 2011 is a wine of exceptional quality and distinction. It showcases the characteristics of its prestigious Grand Cru terroir, offering a rich and complex aromatic profile. On the palate, it displays a harmonious balance between opulence and freshness, with layers of ripe fruit, subtle mineral notes, and a long, lingering finish.

Vinous
Complex, inviting nose melds stone fruits, very ripe pear, clove, musky lees and a hint of faded rose. Wonderfully sweet and tactile, displaying lovely energy but no hardness to the fine-grained flavors of stone fruits and spices. Shows real punch for the vintage but needs time in bottle to develop more complexity. I'm not convinced that this wine will surpass the Truffiere in the long run.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2013
