Bâtard-Montrachet 2009, Etienne Sauzet is a remarkable white wine from one of the most prestigious estates in Burgundy. Founded by Etienne Sauzet in the early 20th century, the estate is now managed by his descendant Benoit Riffault, alongside his wife Emilie. The 2009 vintage comes from a 0.22-hectare plot of Domain owned vines, and was aged in 50% new oak. This Bâtard-Montrachet displays a beautifully balanced profile, with fresh notes of lemon zest, white flowers, and subtle salty minerality, all harmoniously enveloped in a touch of oak. It’s a wine that showcases the depth and precision of the vineyard’s terroir, offering both power and finesse with excellent ageing potential.

Vinous
- Brooding, powerful aromas of apple and white flowers. Fat, rich and appley; rather robust and masculine, but with lovely sweetness and texture. Fuller than the Chevalier and in need of three or four years of bottle aging. But can't quite match the '97 for sheer material.
