Renato Corino Barolo Vigneto Rocche 2006 is a full-bodied, single-vineyard Nebbiolo red wine from the Barolo appellation of northern Italy. Based in La Morra, Renato Corino is regarded as one of the leading exponents of the `modern school` of Barolo, producing elegant wines which combine approachability in youth with extraordinary ageibng potential. This cuvée is from Le Rocche, a renowned Barolo vineyard site in Castiglione. With Nebbiolo vines planted on a steep, south east-facing slope on sandy clay soils, it produces perfumed, elegant Barolos with great ageing potential.

Deep red. Tighter on the nose than the normale, with blacker fruit aromas complicated by licorice, minerals and a whiff of oak. Plush and generous in the mouth, and sweeter than the nose suggests. The flavors of plum, black cherry and dark raspberry are framed but not overwhelmed by ripe tannins.Stephen Tanzer1st November 2009
