Gianni Gagliardo Barolo Riserva Preve 2006 is a full-bodied, single-vineyard Nebbiolo red wine from the Barolo appellation of Piedmont in northern Italy. Located in La Morra, the Gianni Gagliardo estate has a very long winemaking tradition that dates back to the 1800s. Today the property is one of the most respected in Barolo, with 10 vineyard holdings distributed across five municipalities from which it produces much sought-after Nebbiolo wines. "Very perfumed, with flowers and berries on the nose. Full-bodied, with polished and well-integrated tannins. Bright acidity and a savoury aftertaste. Subtle fruit character. Give it two or three years of bottle age." James Suckling, 2013

- Gagliardo's 2006 Barolo Riserva Preve is heavy, oxidized and tannic, with little in the way of appeal or charm. Unfortunately there is no upside from holding bottles further.
