Founded in 1850 in the historic Barolo village of Verduno, this Italian winery is named after its founder, Giovan Battista Burlotto. Barolo `Acclivi` is produced from the steep slopes of the historic vineyards of Verduno, the northernmost municipality of the Barolo area.
The 2016 vintage was reviewed by The Wine Spectator as follows, `This red is round and cherry-flavored, with lovely clarity and definition. Strawberry, earth and tobacco notes emerge, as do the dusty tannins that are more lacy than dense, extending on the finish.`

Burlotto’s 2016 Barolo Acclivi, from vineyards in Verduno, offers a captivating mix of rose petal, cinnamon, lavender and blue/purplish fruit. The aromatics alone are beguiling for their exotic complexity, but everything about the 2016 is so appealing. Although a young wine with plenty of life ahead, the 2016 Acclivi is absolutely exquisite right now.Antonio Galloni1st June 2023
