Gaja Barbaresco 1996 is a mature-vintage Nebbiolo red wine from the Barbaresco appellation of Piedmont, northern Italy. Gaja Barbaresco is a true icon of Italian wine and this is the flagship bottling of the pre-eminent Barbaresco estate. Although the Gaja family has been making wine for five generations, the architect of its modern-day success was Angelo Gaja, who took over the family business in 1970. From Turin to Tuscany
The Gaja Winery was founded in 1859 by Giovanni Gaja and has been owned and operated by five generations of the Gaja family. One of Italy’s most renowned and dynamic wineries, Gaja first established its world-class reputation with the powerful reds it produced in the region of Piemonte in Northwestern Italy.
