Balvenie Vintage Cask 9908 1967 is a Speyside single malt distilled in 1967 and bottled in 1999 as part of the distillery premium vintage series. This expression matured in a single bourbon cask and was released at 40% ABV, delivering a profile of honeyed malt, vanilla and delicate floral notes. The palate is remarkably soft with an oily texture that carries layers of barley sugar and sweet oak through to a clean finish. This vintage illustrates the purity of the distillery spirit before the wide adoption of intensive wood finishing, focusing instead on long-term American oak maturation. It remains a benchmark for enthusiasts seeking the elegant and cereal-forward house style that David Stewart perfected during his long tenure as Malt Master.

One of Speyside's most famous single malts, located in Dufftown and owned by William Grant and Sons. The distillery was founded in the late 1800s by William Grant, who worked at the Mortlach distillery nearby. Master Distiller David Stewart is credited with making Balvenie the powerhouse we know today.
David worked at Balvenie for many decades and introduced many innovations that are now widespread across the industry including 'cask finishes' where whiskies are aged for a period in ex-Bourbon wood before being finished for a relative short period in a more active barrel.
