Distilled in 1973 at Balvenie, Vintage Cask 7484 is a rare 50 Year Old single malt Scotch whisky, exclusively matured in a traditional oak cask. The whisky presents a profile of honey, vanilla and orchard fruits, echoing the distillery`s signature style developed by William Grant & Sons since 1892. The single-cask maturation allows for a nuanced expression of the spirit, avoiding any dilution by blending. The palate reveals a balance of citrus peel and warming spice, showcasing the expertise of the master distiller in selecting casks from a historically significant period in Speyside whisky production.

One of Speyside's most famous single malts, located in Dufftown and owned by William Grant and Sons. The distillery was founded in the late 1800s by William Grant, who worked at the Mortlach distillery nearby. Master Distiller David Stewart is credited with making Balvenie the powerhouse we know today.
David worked at Balvenie for many decades and introduced many innovations that are now widespread across the industry including 'cask finishes' where whiskies are aged for a period in ex-Bourbon wood before being finished for a relative short period in a more active barrel.
