Balvenie Vintage Cask 1976 is a Speyside single malt that has undergone a singular maturation process in a traditional oak cask, reflecting the precision of Master Distiller David Stewart. Distilled in 1976, it has aged for decades, allowing the whisky to develop distinct characteristics. The profile encompasses honey, vanilla and orchard fruits, revealing the cask`s influence on the spirit. The whisky showcases a smooth palate accentuated by citrus peel, delivering a balanced experience. An enduring finish of warming spice and floral notes rounds out the tasting journey.

Crafted with Care

One of Speyside's most famous single malts, located in Dufftown and owned by William Grant and Sons. The distillery was founded in the late 1800s by William Grant, who worked at the Mortlach distillery nearby. Master Distiller David Stewart is credited with making Balvenie the powerhouse we know today.

David worked at Balvenie for many decades and introduced many innovations that are now widespread across the industry including 'cask finishes' where whiskies are aged for a period in ex-Bourbon wood before being finished for a relative short period in a more active barrel.
