Balvenie Tun 1858 Batch 6 is a limited-edition Speyside single malt Scotch whisky vatted from nine American oak barrels and three European oak sherry casks. Originally created as an exclusive for the Taiwanese market, this expression showcases the distillery’s honeyed house style with a syrupy, waxy texture and notes of ginger and dried fruit. The Tun 1858 series is celebrated for David C Stewart MBE’s mastery of marrying disparate casks in a traditional oak vessel to achieve a seamless, complex profile. While rarely seen at auction, Batch 6 remains a highly sought-after prize for collectors of Balvenie’s prestigious small-batch releases.

Crafted with Care
One of Speyside's most famous single malts, located in Dufftown and owned by William Grant and Sons. The distillery was founded in the late 1800s by William Grant, who worked at the Mortlach distillery nearby. Master Distiller David Stewart is credited with making Balvenie the powerhouse we know today.
David worked at Balvenie for many decades and introduced many innovations that are now widespread across the industry including 'cask finishes' where whiskies are aged for a period in ex-Bourbon wood before being finished for a relative short period in a more active barrel.
